Tucked into the valley formed by the Big Macks Creek and Jersey Ridge, Camp Powhatan is the largest Council owned camp in the nation. Whether learning new skills in one of our over 30 merit badge programs, or participating in one of the evening activities, Scouts and Scouters will have fun living the Scout Oath and Law.
The Voyageur trek Program at Camp Powhatan is a 5 day 50 mile-plus canoe trip down the breathtaking New River. Throughout the journey, scouts will learn about the French Canadian Voyageur adventure which served a vital role in the fur trade and exploration of the new world.
The New River Adventure is for thrill seekers looking for a rollercoaster week of fun. This program combines teamwork, leadership and confidence building activities with the skills, and challenge of several high adventure activity. Over 30 merit badge offerings from Nature to waterfront to shooting sports and Outdoor skills.
Also offered is the Brownsea Island Adventure (first year camper program) to develop those first year scouts who just crossed over from Webelos. Check out the video
